Ezza

Ezza was formed in the early 2000s in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) by Nigerian Omar Zidia. The son of Tuareg blacksmiths from Niger, he was captivated as a child by the famous desert blues of the genre's great precursors, such as Tinariwen. In Menad Moussaoui (bass) and Stéphane Gratteau (drums), he finds the ideal companions to accompany his voice and guitar. African blues and world fusion with a rock and groove edge, Ezza's music is never boring. The band released Abadeya in 2013 and announced itself as the new sensation of the genre with Alkher in 2015. During the spring and summer of 2015, Ezza performed at major French and international festivals, including the UK's WOMAD, which often opens the doors of the English-speaking market to world music artists.
