Les Excentriques

Les Excentriques are a Quebec pop group from Saint-Jérôme (Canada), founded in 1963 by Réginald Breton, Réal Deschatelets, Denis Lauzon, Léandre Racine and Florian Shields. The group's name changed from Les Golden Marks in 1963 to Les Cinq Excentriques in 1964, and then to Les Excentriques. The members made their careers with pink hair and dressed in pink! Their first hit was " Fume, fume, fume ", a French-language adaptation of the Beach Boys' 1965 hit " Fun, fun, fun ", first recorded the previous year by the Missiles, a European group. This was followed by the sentimental " Amour blessé ", which also climbed the Quebec radio charts. In the summer of 1965, the band released a self-titled album with the songs " Aide-moi chérie ", another Beach Boys cover, and " Je veux, je veux ", which propelled the album to sales and success in Quebec. Les Excentriques released their second album in the spring of 1966, entitled La Vie En Rose, followed by the Excentricités '66 tour. That same year, the band released a final single, featuring " L'Été, l'été ", a Mamas and the Papas cover of the song " Monday, Monday ", and a German hit by the artist Drafi, " Le Fer, le marbre et l'acier ". Pierre Lalonde also recorded the latter song, which left the group in oblivion. In October 1966, the band decided to go their separate ways.
