The Kings
Vocalist/bassist David Diamond, keyboard player Sonny Keyes, drummer Max Styles and guitarist Mister Zero founded the Kings in Ontario in 1979. Somewhere between new wave and rock, the band released a single, "This Beat Goes On/Switchin' to Glide," that did well in the U.S. as well as Canada. The Kings Are Here appeared in 1980, and Amazon Beach followed in 1981. The band continued performing and released Party Live '85 in 1985. A re-formed Kings appeared in the early '90s, and released Unstoppable in 1993. Because of You and the compilation Anthology One were issued in the early 2000s, and the Kings continued to perform frequently around southern Ontario and the northern United States.
