SIE GUBBA
Norwegian danseband Sie Gubba made their album debut in 1998 and broke through to mainstream success a decade later with the ten-year anniversary live album Sånn e Livet. Founded in 1995 in Ålen i Gauldalen, Norway, the band is comprised of Petter Øien (vocals, guitar), Magne Almås (guitar), Hans Skogaas (bass), Ingar Engan (fiddle), Ola Dragmyrhaug (accordion), and Tommy Folstadli (drums). Following Sie Gubba's 1998 album debut with Jakta Ti Alle Fjell, subsequent albums included Lynx'n (2000), Lørdag E'det Faest (2002), Bykar (2003), and Sie Gubba (2006). The band broke through to mainstream success in 2008 with Sånn e Livet, a live album filled with the band's best songs from the past ten years. The follow-up album, Hemafrå (2009), was also popular, reaching the Top Ten of the Norwegian albums chart.
