Biyouna

Biyouna is a popular star in Algeria, and throughout the Algerian diaspora. Best known for her roles on television and in the cinema, Biyouna is above all the voice of a free woman who knows how to make herself heard. Biyouna made her name in 1973 in the soap opera La Grande Maison, where she played the character of Fatma. From then on, this liberated woman, whose morals often upset Algerian society, was a hit. Biyouna returned to song in 2001 with Raid Zone, in which her extraordinary personality is omnipresent. Produced with the help of Joseph Racaille, 2006's Blonde dans la Casbah is once again inhabited by her deep voice as an inveterate smoker. Between the films Délice Paloma (2007)and La Source des Femmes (2011), and her many appearances in sit-coms, Biyouna is constantly in the news. In January 2012, French comic Ramzy presented Biyouna with the show Biyouna! at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris.
