Amsterdam Klezmer Band
Amsterdam Klezmer Band has played a major role in the revival of klezmer music. Formed in 1996, the Amsterdam band first performed in the city's streets, parks and cafés. An immediate success, the Amsterdam Klezmer Band caused a sensation at numerous festivals, and in 1999 released its first CD, De Amsterdam Klezmer Band. Not limiting themselves to klezmer music, Amsterdam Klezmer Band also incorporated jazz and Balkan influences. Limonchiki in 2001 launched the band's career, reaching a peak with Son in 2005. Zaraza in 2008 and Katla in 2011 are just in time to support the worldwide revival of the klezmer style.
