Sélim Mazari
Born in La Garenne-Colombes in 1992, the French pianist began taking lessons at the age of five. In 2004, he joined Pierre Réach's class at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris, then, in 2008, Brigitte Engerer's at the Conservatoire national supérieur de Paris, who guided and advised him, before following Claire Désert's teaching up to the Master's degree, obtained in 2013. Now living in London, Sélim Mazari studied with Dmitri Alexeev at the Royal College, then went on to deepen his knowledge of the classical repertoire in Vienna with Avidis Kouyoumdjian. Winner of the Concours international d'Île de France and the Concours international de Collioure, he has taken part in several festivals and recorded the recital Souvenirs de Hongrie (2015) with flutists Juliette Hurel and Joséphine Olech. His nomination for the Victoires de la musique in 2018 brought him to the attention of the public, while his first solo recital, around Beethoven's Variations (2020), for the Mirare label, received a Diapason d'or.
