Maurice Vander
A jazz pianist born on June 11, 1929, who died on February 16, 2017, Maurice Vander is best known for having accompanied Claude Nougaro for many years. A session musician, arranger and producer, he has collaborated with numerous jazz and chanson artists since his early days with Django Reinhardt. Adoptive father of Christian Vander, drummer and founder of the group Magma, he has also recorded a handful of group and solo albums, including Paris Jazz (1955), Vander Michelot Lubat (1985), Vander Se Joue Nougaro (1992), Ô Toulouse (2004), Nougaro Sans Paroles (2006) and Récidive : Piano Solo (2007).
