Anne Le Bozec
Pianist Anne Le Bozec has performed an unusually wide variety of music as an accompanist, both to singers and instrumentalists. She has also specialized in multimedia collaborations.
Le Bozec was born in 1975 in Tours, France. Her family was oriented toward music and other arts as well, including drawing, sculpture, and literature. Le Bozec enrolled at the Paris Conservatory at 16, taking home top prizes in piano, vocal accompaniment, and chamber music; she would continue to maintain that triple focus. She rounded out her education in Germany and Austria, taking master classes with soprano Gundula Janowitz, baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, and violist Tabea Zimmermann, among others. Since the turn of the century, Le Bozec has found top-notch international and vocal collaborators. She has performed with the Ardeo, Parisii, and Callino String Quartets, cellist Alain Meunier, flutist Sandrine Tilly, and numerous singers, including sopranos Sunhae Im and Sabine Devieilhe, and tenor-baritone Marc Mauillon. As a vocal accompanist, she is equally interested in French and German song repertory. Among Le Bozec's most characteristic performances have been a group of cross-genre collaborations, including her own composition Les Heures latines, in which she performed with flamenco dancer Sharon Sultan. She joined soprano Amel Brahim-Djelloul for a recital structured around Middle Eastern One Thousand and One Nights folk tales. Le Bozec has performed at top chamber music venues, including the Salle Pleyel and the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
Le Bozec has made several recordings, accompanying Meunier in a live recording of the Beethoven cello sonatas in 2013. In 2020, she was featured with Mauillon on the song recital Fauré et ses poètes, released on the Harmonia Mundi label. Le Bozec teaches vocal accompaniment at the Paris Conservatory and the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, and she frequently gives master classes across Europe and Asia.
