Kharesma Ravichandran, born on May 8, 2000 in London, England, is a British playback singer who rose to fame for her many contributions to the Tamil cinema industry. Her relationship with music began at the tender age of four when she performed for the British Heart Foundation. In 2011, Kharesma’s dedication to music led her to India, where she immersed herself in the rich traditions of Hindustani and Carnatic music. In addition, she lent her voice to advertisements, singing jingles for brands like Chicking, Alsa Mall, and Impulse Perfume. She made her official debut in the 2015 Tamil film Yennai Arindhaal, where she enchanted audiences with the song “Yaen Ennai,” penned by Harris Jayaraj. That year, her ascent to stardom was catalyzed by the sensational hit “Kadhal Cricket” from the action thriller Thani Oruvan, composed by the Hiphop Tamizha duo. The song soared to the top of the Indian streaming charts and Tamil radio stations globally. She continued her winning streak with “Party with the Pei” from Aranmanai 2, another collaboration with the Chennai-based duo that topped many charts upon its release. After receiving multiple Best Female Playback Singer nominations at the Filmfare, SIIMA, and Edison Awards for her film work, Kharesma Ravichandran kicked off her solo career in 2020 with "Maranthitiyo," the first single from her upcoming debut EP. Released via Hiphop Tamizha's Underground Tribe label, the song was followed by the release of the English singles "Moved On" and "Dear Future" later that year. In 2023, she resumed her film work on the sci-fi action film Pichaikkaran 2, lending her voice to the Vijay Antony original "Nana Buluku."
