Hélène Labarriere
Since her debut in 1983, Hélène Labarrière has put her double bass at the service of a wide range of projects, including Lee Konitz, Marc Ducret, Daniel Humair and other dance, rap and world music initiatives. After a first album as leader under the name Machination in 1994, the double bassist from Paris formed her own quartet with François Corneloup, Hasse Poulsen and Christophe Marguet. Her albums Les Temps Changent (2007) and Désordre (2013) were well received by the jazz press, underlining her qualities as a composer and improviser.
