Big Cesar

Born on February 9, 2023 in Paris (France), and died on January 30, 1997 in Créteil (France), Jean Constantin was a French singer. During the 1950s, he performed at the Bobino music hall, the Olympia and the Trois Baudets. In 1952, he wrote the song " Mon Manège à moi " for Édith Piaf. He also wrote for other artists, such as Colette Deréal for " Ne joue pas avec mon coeur ", Zizi Jeanmarie for " Mon Truc en plumes ", and Yves Montand for " Ma gigolette " and " Pianola ". His hits of the 1950s included " Mets deux thunes dans l'bastringue " in 1954, " Les Pantoufles à papa " in 1955 and " Le Pacha " in 1956. Together with Jordi Coll, Michel Attenoux, Moustache and Totol Masselier, he formed the jazz band Les Gros Minets in the 1960s. He also released several records under the name Big César. He also composed music for a number of films, including Bonjour Sourire in 1956, Nouvelle Vague: les Quatre Cents Coups in 1959 and Le Caïd de Champignol in 1966. Jean Constantin also appeared as an actor in a number of feature films and TV series in the 1960s.
