Mit ihrer von Blues und 60's Soul geprägten Musik stellte sich der Erfolg schnell ein, vor allem dank ihrer 1989 veröffentlichten ersten Single "I Don't Want a Lover", die die musikalischen Einflüsse von Texas zusammenfasste. Doch erst in den späten 90er Jahren trat die Band um Sharleen Spiteri wirklich in den Vordergrund, mit Songs, die allgemein poppiger waren und ein breiteres Publikum ansprachen. Die Single "Say What You Want" wurde 1998 in einer Version mit dem Wu-Tang Clan wiederveröffentlicht. Andere Tracks wie "Summer Son", "Inner Smile" und "Black Eyed Boy" erreichten ebenfalls die Charts. Jetzt sind die Schotten mit ihrem zehnten Studioalbum "Hi" zurück.
